- European Awareness -
AwarEU - European Awareness is a project financed within the Call “Social Inclusion through Education, Training and Youth” under the Key Action 3 - Initiatives for Policy Innovation of the Erasmus+ Programme.
Starting from Italy, Portugal, Spain, France and the UK,
the project aims at developing a model work programme to be spread in all EU countries
AwarEU builds on the successful format of the European Awareness Days, a communication and educational initiative CesUE developed to reach out to large numbers of European citizens. EADs notably feature the music recital show “Europe: what a Passion!
The musical tale of a stormy love affair”, which gives back the EU citizens the chance to feel emotionally involved in a fundamental, yet largely unknown, part of their own past. In 2017 AwarEU organizes EADs in all participant countries: the show’s author are creating an original version of it for each audience and will prepare a filmed version of each event.
After the EADs tour, whose last dates are already scheduled in a double event that will take place in Stirling (Scotland) 13-14 June 2017, AwarEU partners will cooperatively develop and finalise a multilingual and virtual learning environment on the European Union (VLEU). The VLEU will offer the following multimedia courses to a wide number of beneficiaries: an innovative course on the history of European integration that will exploit the recorded versions of the music recital show, a basic A-Z course on the European Union , and also specific courses tailored to teachers’ and journalists’ needs.
In a methodological perspective of active learning for an active citizenship, VLEU courses will feature interactive digital tools, including a helpdesk service and distance Q&A sessions, a multilingual blog and a Newsletter on the EU current affairs and educational and financial resources.
A vast network of Associated Partners will help to disseminate and further exploit AwarEU results beyond the project lifetime.
AwarEU is open to new adhesions and cooperation with other institutions, networks and organizations in EU countries and beyond.
